I recently purchased an AMD Athlon Thunderbird system (FIC AZ11E motherboard, 1.1ghz Athlon cpu, 256mb PC133 DIMM). The system works fine, except for one problem: when I set the frontside bus speed jumper to 133mhz (choices are 133mhz and 100mhz) the system will not power on. If I set it back to 100mhz it works fine. Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas what might cause this problem?
i've overclocked dozens of processors and the only 1 i ever fried was a 1.1 tbird after changing the sink from a crome orb to a super orb. the sink was not on straight and wasnt making good contact with the slug even with heatsink compound. took all of about 30 seconds to turn it into a keychain fob :-(
