Comment:

I have a slave 28 gig hd which is only showing up as a 10 gig hd?
Fdisk info:
D drive
Partion 1 - Pri Dos - Mbytes 10001 - Useage 35%.
Partion 2 - Ext Dos - Mbytes 10001 - Useage 35%.
In windows the hard drive (D) shows as a 10 gigs?

How do I get it back to 28 gigs?

Run FDISK and delete both the partitions (which obviously means that you will lose ALL your Data). Just select the "Delete exisiting partition option" at the beginning. You will have to delete the ext dos partition first and the reboot before you can delete the pri dos partition. After this you will need to create a pri dos partition and say Yes when asked "Do you wish to use the maximum available disk space for a primary dos partition?". After this reboot and format and you got your 28 GIG hdd!

Hope this helps.

Tried your suggestion, problem is when I try to delete the extended dos partion, I get a message that says, Cannot delete extended dos partion while logival drives exists.

If I try to delete logical drive, it says no logical drive defined?

Go to the manufacturer of your hard drive's website. On it, you will find some downloadable tools if you follow the links to support.

Download them and run them.

One of the tools will set this drive back to "factory defaults"... or "write zeros to the drive". This will wipe all partition information and all data from the drive.

Then you should be able to fdisk, format, and reinstall the OS.

Some examples of the tools:
Western Digital's diagnostic tools
Seagate Desktop edition
Maxtor's Powermax software
