Fast clock

I have a weird problem. Sometimes the clock speeds up (roughly double speed) under Windows ME. I have noticed this on and off for about a year. It usually happens when I dial up to the internet (tried 3 different ISP's - can't be the software). I don't think it is a board / hardware problem either - never seen problem under Linux. The high speed makes it near impossible to double click. The only solution is a reboot. Can some one tell me what is happening? Thanks in advance

you may have a virus try online scan at panda or housecall any virus.

SK, SWAG,FWIW, I use a piece of freeware to synchronize my system clock with the Naval Observatory atomic clock. That should control bus speed as it must have a reference point? Perhaps it would slow your clock down to the proper speed?? It is called "Stay Live 2000" (free) and you can get it at:
