on my windows 98se after about a month after installing a game, i noticed weird messagge, something like "out of range". after re-installing all the drivers i could think of-nvidia gforce 2mmx 400 64mb, via chip drivers, direct x 8.1-to no avail. formatted the disc, got windows me with my first drivers, still won't work.i tried re-installing the new drivers-won't work.still fails and can't even use the 3d maze screensaver, 'cuz it says my video card does not support 3d. can anyone please help?

Do a search for direct x buster (I believe that is the name). Take out your Direct X 8.1 and install 8.0a. I have heard that there are more than a few bugs with the 8.1 for some reason.

Hope it works for you,

~me~

Please note guys, that DirectX Buster must be
used whilst in Safe Mode, esp ME.
Please post back Doonya if you used it, and
let us know how it went.
Regards, Col

I will try that, thank you Col, but the problem I thinks lies in this nvidia drivers,'cuz when I rebuilt windows and tried the ME I had direct x 8 , only later I upgraded to 8.1.That is, yesterday.Off to try this one,and I'll get back to you.

256mb ram.nvidia drivers suck and i really have to buy a different video card. after two days of complete madness i got it. the resolution was set on 1024x768. when i tried 800x600, i had the same problem. a friend of mine said:try the opposite,if the logic tells you it might be lower, try higher.now the resolution is 1152x864 and the thing works perfectly.don't ask me why. thanks, d.
