when using ie v5.5 ,i am unable to view or load various web sites.however these same sites are available to me using aol's browser.when ie is launched from the desktop 80% of the sites are available some are not,they start loading but do not finish.they are not available through any of my usual engines..only aol's .any suggustions would be appreciated.

First check the security settings and make sure it dosent have thoes sites as restricted.
Then I would try the "auto-repair" feature of IE.
start>settings>control panel>add/remove programs>microsoft IE and tools.Then highlite it and select "remove" and an option will pop-up to repair it.

thanks for the suggestion i have repaired and rset explorer to its original state ,checked security settings and still nogo.any other responses would be great.

Have you any anti-virus software set to prevent java scripts or active x scripts from running in IE?

checked norton av no settings preventing scripts from running.ie 5.5 with sp1 installed.would upgrading to ie 6 help?aol has recommended downloading ie5.5 from their website.any feedback on this ?has anyone done so and what were the results/
