Since I upgraded to ME my computer freezes up and I get dozens of error messages. I can't access my word 97 because there is a error message coming up in Winword.exe. I need help as soon as possible.
Lajerome, post more info about your computer, CPU? RAM? HD?... and so on... what are the free resources at startup? any conflicts in device manager?, what else besides word97 does not work? what are the error messages you are getting? How did your computer performed under previous OS, and what was your reason to upgrade to windows ME? I am using word97 on my windows ME computer without problem i know it wont help you, but it at least shows that it is possible. Regards Miro

I bet a dollar that he upgraded to me not full install, which overwrote the old registry. In other words Word97 files are in program files directory, but the registry files associated w/ Word 97 no longer exist. Reinstalling Word should do it. Or my personal advice, NEVER upgrade. A clean install will give you so fewer problems.
