When closing Internet explorer (Win ME, Office 2000) I get a message stating that 'IExplore has caused an error in MFC42.DLL'. It doesn't appear to cause any problems but it is very irritating. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Go to start, run and type msconfig then press ok. From tools menu and use the extract file and extract MFC42.dll to your C:\windows\system folder.

It also may be worth downloading the windows libraries update at: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/search.asp?
In the search by box select keyword and enter libraries update then select your operating system and press find it. Follow the instructions to install the update.
