error in excel97 with ME.

I have a small problem with Excel. I'm running Windows ME and Office 97. When I try to format cell a message comes up "error in excel.exe. Excel will now close"

You might want to re-install Office 97.

Somewhere is a "repair" option for Office. I think if you go to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and then double-click on Microsoft Office in the list. It should give you an option to repair.
