erased cd rom drive

Specs: windows me milliim edition, 600
i formatted my hardrive and didnt have a windows me cd. and then before i did all this i accidently erased my cd dvd rom drive , then i got windows me put it in the computer and it doesnt recognize the drive to put windows back in ,,how can i reinstall windows without cd dvd rom drive, please help me.

I think what you need to do is go into cmos/bios setup and change the boot order. Make the cdrom the first boot device. That way it should boot from the ME cd and you can reinstall windows.

You can't erase a CD-ROM drive. If you found the WinME CD & it's bootable, do as DAVEINCAPS said & check the BIOS settings. Make sure the CD drive is listed before the HDD in the boot order. If you still can't boot off the CD, it may not be bootable. If that's the case, you'll need to create a boot floppy, then boot off it & run the installation from DOS.
