I've been able to do the following ONLY TWICE, but it looked quite interesting. I appear to have miskeyed-in a keyboard sensitivity to CTRL D, so that a dialog box called Desktop Pictures was presented. It seemed to let me choose a jpg, presumably for display on the desktop. How can I regain that ability ?

Are you talking about Display Properties opened at the Desktop tab? Showing a list of all the background pics you have available for selection?

The tabs in my WinMe Display Properties lack 'Desktop', but 'Background' may well be the equivalent. The Browse button produces options of setting other images from anywhere and may well have the same effect; but it is NOT the 'Desktop Pictures' dialog box I was asking about. I am interested in the mechanics of how to reproduce
what happened accidentally before.

Don't ever recall seeing a 'Desktop Pictures' dialog box native to ME.

What was it 'dialog-ing' about? What was the purpose of the box? Where did it want to take you?

It turns out that that feature belongs to a third party software - specifically 'Active Desktop Calendar'.
