Can I access editing of the Task Bar Shortcuts, as I have one that has been corrupted ? I would expect it to be in Registry.

Are you referring to the System Tray or the Quick Launch toolbar?

"Are you referring to the System Tray or the Quick Launch toolbar ?" NEITHER. It is in the TASK BAR between QuickLaunch and Systray. Maybe I have used the wrong term (shortcut ?) for those items to which open programs minimise.
My problem has been solved. The shortcut was for a DOS program (WordPerfect). When I right-clicked on it, the Context Menu included Properties, in which I could edit the text of the title. Interestingly, THAT kind of Context Menu does NOT occur for Windows shortcuts !
