Hiiiiiii everybody.......... Somebody told me that its impossible to edit "Microsoft Windows Millennium Startup Menu" in the boot menu of windows ME.................. I had also googled this thing & i found that it can be done by IO.sys but when it tried i found it in an very unusual format........ Its eazy to do this with io.sys of windows 98 & 95..........but i found myself unable to edit io.sys in windows me even through Hex editor................ If any1 knows how to do this plz tel me it in brief............... I am new to this form............. Plzzzzzzzz Somebody helppppppppppppppppppppppp Thanks in advance..............

In Windows ME (unlike Windows 98) the file C:\IO.SYS is not a text file, and so cannot be edited by the user. It is a binary file, not a text file. To edit the startup configuration in Windows ME go to START > RUN and type MSCONFIG in the box, then click OK. That will open the System Configuration Utility, which controls all aspects of Win ME startup.
