Hi I have a cd burner that says the max speed for burning is 8x but when i try to burn at 8x it stops and give me an error. I can burn at 4x and 2x why wont 8x work. And how can I get it to work??

The CD-RW , I installed in my system came with Easy CD Creator ver4.02. I went to their web site and upgraded to ver4.05 . Recomended for Windows Me. I have read some post claiming that DirectCD causes problems and that you should not install it. I have it installed and have not had a ill side effects from it. Even though I must admit , I also dont have much use for it !Good Luck,Nick
