Hi: I have a DVD-rom in my Sony Vaio PCG-F640 running ME. I made backups of some of my DVD movies (on another computer with a DVD burner). When I tested them on this Vaio, the DVD+R burned copies work fine, but I had bought a spindle of DVD+RW's and these burned movies are not read on the Vaio like the DVD+R's are. The DVD+RW discs spin and click in the DVD rom and the DVD playback software doesn't recognize that there is anything in the drive. When I go to the drive in My Computer, it says to insert a cd into the drive, so it is not the drivers in my DVD playback software. When I try the DVD+RW in the computer that burned the DVD, it works fine (this computer is running XP) I don't understand why my Vaio recognizes DVD+R's, but not DVD+RW's? Please help! Thanks in advance, Gail
