Windows loaded the normal cd-rom driver for my dvd drive. If I put in a dvd, I can get the menu to appear in a player, but trying to actually watch a movie is fruitless. How can I get a dvd driver? It's a Toshiba drive, and their homepage says that Windows should recognize it without any additional software from them.

A driver allows the drive to be run under windows, not play movies. You need software to do that. cyberlinks's Power DVD and Windvd are the most popular.

There is a "free" program that I forget the name of on many dvd's. It is loaded with spyware.
