Dvd Drive does not read or work sometime

I load a dvd movie into my dvd drive and my dvd movie does not play, the Dvd drive show it reading the dvd disk at first then the processing stop and nothing plays. I have a toshiba dvd, program running my dvd is powerDvd 2.5. I rebuild my computer and lost the correct drive or did not loaded the chipset driver for my computer. Tell me what can I do to bypass this or how to load the right chipset. I have the cd drivers for this but I'm not sure which one is it.
