I have (2) 'my document' folders. One shows as a separate folder with my 'administrator name' when I open 'My Computer' on my desktop. The other is under C:\documents and settings/HP Administrator/My Docments. When you pull 'My Docments' the second way, that is where I find the duplicated folder. (Actually it shows up either way. - Double clicking on my documents on the desktop,or using the long way through c:/) If I delete or add to one of the files the duplicated file changes as well. I cannot remove one without the other being removed. Is this usual? Using Windows Professional, version 2002 (not 2003), SP 3. Have latest up-dates from Micosoft. This is a home computer, not on any network. Any ideas? Please keep it simple as I am not technical. Thanks - Pat

The 'My Documents' on your desktop is not a folder at all, it's a shortcut to a folder. Right click on it, then click properties for more info.....

This question is for Windows XP Professional. I can right-click on the folder and properties, but what does that tell me? I still can't delete anything within the duplicated folder because if I do, it delete's everything from My Documents. They both have the same folders within them.

"I still can't delete anything within the duplicated folder because if I do, it delete's everything from My Documents"
As already said, they are the same. One is just a shortcut to the actual folder.

"I can right-click on the folder and properties, but what does that tell me?"
Yes, what does it tell you?? Target tab? Target folder location??
The icon on your desktop is NOT a folder...it's shortcut to a folder. The location of the folder can be found by doing what I told you - right click, click properties, then look at the target location. It will be "C:\documents and settings/HP Administrator/My Docments"
