I have 2 my document folders. One is on my desktop. The other is under programs. If I delete or add to one of the files the duplicated file changes as well. I cannot remove one without the other being removed. Is this usual? Using windows Me updated from Windows 98. The shortcut on my desktop has no arrow on it so I believe it is original installed icon. This is a home computer not on any network. Any ideas? Please keep it simple as I am not technical. Thanks

If you check the properties of the desktop folder you will find that it is a shortcut pointing to the actual folder on the C: drive.

Sorry but although it is true it shows a shortcut on desktop properties. When you go into Windows Explorer you can open the folder my documents under desktop showing all files directly underneath and at the same time open my documents listed under programs and open my documents shown there with all files. Like I said two full sets?

Teabag,
The shortcut if thats what it is is actually pointing you to the folder in explorer. Open up both folders and add a file in one. If the file shows up in the other your looking at the same folder.
