I recently put the ME oem on a seperate partition from 98 on my system. in order to boot back into 98 instead of ME i put in the 98 command.com/io.sys/msdos.sys, It shows the 98 splashscreen then it boots into a command prompt. when i type WIN it says "HIMEM.SYS not found, make sure that it is in your Windows folder" and its there, i even set the windir to my windows directory. anyone have any suggestions.....

I will make it simpler for you. Download this free utility. It is called Ranish Partition Manager.

Also download this boot loader.
http://www.xosl.org/

Create a new partition. That partition should be 47% or lesser of the hard disk storage capacity. If you already have setup Windows 98, resize the hard disk to 47% or lesser of the hard disk capacity. The reason that I want you to do that is because we are going to copy your Windows 98 partition. To do that, we need at least 50 percent free space, but to be safe, we give 53% free space. Run the partition manager. Copy your active partition. After copying, set it to active partition and make sure it is primary and it is hidden. After that, install the boot loader; reboot and you will be able to setup the boot loader. You will see that you can boot 2 partitions in boot loader. Select the partition where you want to setup Windows ME and name it Windows ME so that you won't forget. Boot with that partition and then install Windows ME. That should do it.

I just installed the Windows ME Upgrade over my Windows 98 OS. Now, I would like to create another partition on which I can install Windows 98 - without having to format the computers if possible. Is there any way to get this done?
