No it will not dual boot!!

When you install it over 98 it runs basically the same as it did before.
You just have all the new stuff in it.

If you have Win 98 and install Me, it will overwrite 98. If Win 2000 is already there on another partition it will be unaffected, or you can install Win 2000 alongside it if it isn't already there.

You can also have Linux with one of them (or both of them is you have enough partitions).

Use Partition Magic and its BootMagic. It allowed me to install a triple boot of Windows 98SE, Widows ME, and Windows 2000 PRO. The installation is straight forward with little complications.

if you have winME, and than install win2000, it will ask you to upgrade, or clean install, choose clean install, and choose the same partition as winME. You will see dual boot dialog every time you start your pc.

No need to buy third party software to dual or triple or in fact multi-anything boot any MS products. Just set up your partitions using diskpart (access this by booting from the Win2k CD and using the recovery console).. you'll need a FAT partition for 98, another FAT partition for ME and another partition (NTFS or FAT) for Win2k. Then just throw Win 98 onto it's partition, lob ME onto its partition. This will temporarily make it impossible to boot to 98. Now, chuck 2000 onto its partition and let it sort the mess out. You will have a triple-booting NTLDR screen at boot up. Neat huh?

Oops I forgot to say, when triple booting you may have to edit the boot.ini file. Just do a search for "NTLDR Hacking" to come up with reams of info.
