Putting old drive in New Computer, 40 gig to10 gig, me. The old drive has 98SE, can't use as bios won't support, have to install ME, being a rooky, need to know what drivers they r talking about cd rom, video sound card, etc., where to locate, on ME the restore discs will have them, but how do u install them, and any other eebies I need to know before doing same!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am not sure what you mean. . .if the 40 gig ME is master, then your old drivers from the 10 gig 98se should not be booted. Plus, are they both fat32 partitions?

not sure what your trying to do.
are you leaveing the 40 gig drive in computer?
and installing the old drive as well?old drives jumpers need to be set as slave if so
have you still got the old computer that the drive came out of?if so put old drive back in
the old computer.remove all pci cards and asi cards any printers or add on hard ware.
reboot computer. shut computer back off
this will make 98 not look for your old hard ware when you start it in new computer.
the via 4 in1 drivers on new computer can d/led to the 98 from the m.e machine.
you will allso need a boot manager program
to be able to run the two drives.
system comander or boot magic will work fine.
there are many others.
when installing the 98 hd in new computer boot to m.e and install the drivers to the 98hd from the m.e hd.
than shut computer off and remove any printers external hd and any sound cards ect you dont need to make computer run.if you got graphics card you should load graphics drivers onto 98hd befor booting to 98hd.
and your dirx drivers will need to be same
series as the m.e to run monitor and you might want to load the moiter driver befor booting to 98hd. and any sound card drivers ect.you can do these from m.e.
with all unesasry pci,s printers not on computer reboot to 98.
if it runs your lucky. if not sol.
if running and you get all the drivers up dated ect than shut computer off and install devices one at a time reboot and do add new hard ware in the 98 and most likely in the m.e hd as well as it might not see them. do these one at a time.
