Hi folks

came across a big problem the other day.
Im runnin winme,I was listening to music(have sound blaster audigy ex) not a problem when i tried to plug my mic in to chat on yahoo messenger. When i tried to set up the mic it said cannot find sound card.even tho i was listening to music.

I tried to reinstall the sound card and it got to 95% when the installation froze.I tried this many times.Uninstalling, clean wiped the whole pc from any creative files and drivers and reinstalled again still nothing.
I then manually extracted the drivers from the disk and tried to set it up again it then it said cannot find drivers ERROR CODE 69. note:Im still using the s.c to listen to music with.

when i went into devise manager it had a ! mark beside loads of devices.
1: system board 2: usb root hub 3:via tech 3038 PCI to USB universal host controller etc etc along with the s.c. these all work but cant update drivers and its obviously a problem.

each time i restart new devices are in device manager some with the ! beside them others without. IE:yesterday my cd dvd rom had the ! beside today it doesnt.let me c what else........

oh yeh on start up it now stops half way and says pci device conflict f1 to setup f2 to continue.I have done nothing to change my c this all just happened out of the blue.

Oh another thing thats started to happen is that when i try and install drivers, the few times it does work it comes up saying these driivers have not yet been tested by microsoft and will not be installed to save pc errors or something to that effect. Its all a big mess so if anyone has any suggestions before i try format id greatly appreciate it.Formatting is just such a pain in the pie hole.
one last thing(I know im rambling now) have done full sweep of pc with anti virus fully updated and with a heap load of spyware tools etc and nadda came up so pc is pretty clean. Its a feckin nightmare.Cheers all in advance.

AyeCarumba, SWAG, I suspect a power supply going on the fritz. I've had several turn up their toes over the years and they can lower output and cause all sorts of strange problems without completely quiting. Frustrating! Swap?
