Hi,
I was just about to download Driver Detective, but I notice Windows ME isn't listed as a host operating system.I've just had Windows ME installed and need to update my Video Card Driver, but am not familiar with the specifics of this card. I think it's an ATI 264 Mach 64 CT - but want to be sure before downloading (without actually physically inspecting the card).
Apparently this program will identify all system drivers ... is this correct ... and is it compatible with Windows ME?Thank you,
Rosa

It PAYS to read what the software manufacturers say on their website. It PAYS to research whether all of your hardware is supported when changing operating systems. Right on the Driver Detective website homepage, it says that you must have Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 2000 or Windows NT.

Well, it should work. Most programs work with WinME anyways, except the major ones such as Norton 2000 (Family)and so on...

Thank you for your timely response.
Since I'm a relative beginner with computers, I posted my question to this forum in an attempt to LEARN something.
To expedite future matters such as this, perhaps I should PAY a professional for services rendered, rather than have a well-meaning friend do it.
I do realize what operating systems were included on the Driver Detective page, but I've also been told that many programs that work with Windows 98 will ALSO work with Windows ME.
I completely understand that it PAYS to be informed.

I too am interested to know if the manufacturer has done any trials at all for Windows ME. Although the probably old instructions (perhaps drafted as many were before Windows ME was a consideration) do not specify ME compatibility, it ALWAYS PAYS to ask for more information. Perhaps someone PAID to write or distribute the software will respond to this reasonable question-- it's my assumption--and hope--that a certain previous unhelpful reply was not from the same.
P.S.:
It NEVER PAYS to be rude and discourage people from learning.
