How can the following command line be expanded to include PDFs with the HTMs ? C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND.COM /c del c:\windows\recent\*htm*.lnk

You want to delete all the files in that directory with lnk, htm and pdf extensions? You can't combine those all on the same command line unless they can be specified with the same wildcards. So you're talking about 3 separate lines or you could combine the three lines in a batch file.

Once you open command prompt type:

del c:\windows\recent\*.htm and enter.
del c:\windows\recent\*.lnk and enter.
del c:\windows\recent\*.pdf and enter.

The OP was asking about about using DEL (delete) in a command prompt/dos format. Yes, of course it'll work. Instead of posting in with skepticism why not just try it?
