Every time I see the program Distributed COM Services running my CPU runs all full throdle for some reason (it goes crazy reading off my HDD). And it tries to access the internet (i know this because it asks me through zone alarm) what is it. I says that it was made for windows NT...then why do i have it? Can I get rid of it?

Have had the same problem. This service involves the use of Windows reomte procedure call.(Winsocks I believe).
To follow up check the origin which is RPCSS.EXE, a Win 95/98 program.
I get it also on my Zone Alarm Pro but I have been unable to find out how it gets into my computer. That is, what application is allowing RPCSS.exe to open in my computer.
Check http://www.cexx.org/rpc.htm
Deleting it from Zone Alarm has made my connections on the net so much faster!
Any luck with Distributed Com Services and RPCSS.exe let me know.
