I have an old ME computer that I wish to move to the basement and hook up to the router with usb connector. Right now the router and cable modem is right beside the computer so I will have to use a long usb cable to connect direct from the basement since this old computer does not have wireless capabilities. I figure the usb connector will have to reach over 30 feet. Will I be able to do this and maintain the computer connection without problems.

Thanks for any help

Thanks
Teabag

Hi,

Normal maximum for a USB cable is 5 metres

You can however get active powered USB cables to greatly extend this range.
