Well I was using AOL when it crashed.......then it was followed by a RUNDLL error..........I restarted my computer. When it booted up the resolution was 640x480 and had 16 bit color. Well i went into propertities and such to set it back to 800x600 and 256. I clicked apply and it asked to restart I did so........ It booted back up as it did before 640x480 etc.....Well i tried a few more times nothing happened. I got 2 errors rundll had caused an error in mmsystem.dll which i corrected by opening the file system.ini and adding drivers=mmsystem.dll to the boot part i restarted and that fixed the sound, which was not working......but the resolution is still screwed up the other error i got was microsoft directdraw something or other wouldnt work because it need something higher then 256 colors............So how shall i fix my resolution problem?

thanks

I sounds to me like you have to reload the driver for the video card. After you got the mmsystem.dll error, did you start to go into safe mode?

To find out what driver and to run diagnotics open control panel, system, device manager, display adapters, select yours and click properties, then either update driver or run diagnostics. May or may not be the problem.
