Upon starting my computer, the computer completes it's POST and then a message appears that says "4th Master Hard Disk: S.M.A.R.T. Status BAD, Backup and Replace Press F1 to Resume". The machine works fine; what can I do to fix this problem??

what does the message say to do? Then do it!

Your 4th drive is about to die according to SMART. I would believe the message and would get busy getting my data off the drive.

S.M.A.R.T. (Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology)

A combination of technology built in to the drive, BIOS and/or OS that monitors disk drives for advance warning that the drive is developing problems.

You need to backup any/all data you want to keep on the drive. Then go to the disk drive manufactures web site and download their diagnostics and SMART utility for the drive and test it. In some cases these programs can clear/fix the error condition. (Or turn it off if you chose).
