I'm havin problems with my directX 8.1 as well. I've installed it on my Win 2000, but none of my games recognize it. They just inform me that my directX 8.1 was not recognized. So i reinstall it, from a file i got from microsoft.com (heh heh) and it still dont work when i try to play a game (warcraft 3). So now, im aangry. I install directX 8.0 and then try the game (of course it dont work since it recquires 8.1) but i do it anyway. So it tells me to install 8.1 from the WC 3 CD and try again. I do so, but tadaaa, it dont work either.
