I have windows me having 256k ram, 700Mhz processor, Creative riva TNT 2 display card, diamond 300 sound card, USRobotics 56k modem, zip omega 100mb internal drive, ide cdrom, scuzzy cdwriter & 3-1/2" floppy with 40mb harddisk ( 7 partitions). I was loading one new software and it was not starting. Then it hanged the computer. When restarted it started in safe mode and norton antivirus was disabled automatically, and videodisplay card and sound card were not working. I restarted the computer but same problem. I uninstalled Norton antivirus then reinstalled winme twice. Now zipdrive and cdrom were also gone. Video display & sound card reinstalled but not operating. After hardware detection cdrom drive was on. But scuzzy cdwriter is not working till now. Modem was also not working. At last it is showing following message in the device manager\system devices it shows disabled( yellow ? mark) direct memory access controller. Further it shows in advanced window the following error message.
"VDMAX.VXD device loader(s) for this device could not load the devoce driver."
After this i changed harddisk win98 and uploaded the same drivers and everything works fine. Now guide me what to do.

if up loading the same drivers in 98 and all worked fine than you need diferant drivers for m.e
