I want to know where I can download and install a different defrag program from. I have heard OO Defrag is good but their site only has it for Win NT, XP etc. Can someone tell me of any good defragers please

Windows Defrag is fast and good if you are having problems do it in safe mode, this keeps drivers by 3rd parties from starting, I know there are some defrag programs out there but they may cost if they are free I would question them????? It is real fast in safe mode too. try it. Sue

Ed: PowerDefrag does not use it's own Defrag program. In simple terms, it arranges to run the Windows Defrag early in the boot process. (It also "cheats" by not running with Optimize Programs set which speeds up the defrag run dramatically. Thus if you are running Taskmon and expect the defrag to be using this info, it isn't.) This can be accomplished by using the following REG file. Simply double click on it, reboot and defrag will be run first. As well, download the WinMe version of Defrag which is substantially faster than the native Win98 one.
