I'm not familiar with AVG, but is there a configuration option as far as telling the software how to look for updates?

Do you have a photo of the actual window that comes up?

Have you disabled or removed the 56k from your system?
Right click on my computer, choose propertys, then device manager, then look for modems and open it then right clik the modem and remove or disable it

You can disable it, but you can't remove it. If you remove it, on start up, the computer will find "new hardware" and re-install it.

Go to Connections in Tools, Internet Options. If you see anything in the box under Dial Up or Virtual something or other, click it, then remove it..
