My desktop wallpaper does not show up. Several days ago it showed up normally, but then one day when I turned my PC on, it was just black. Then I did this step: I right-clicked in desktop area ---> properties ---> desktop wallpaper ---> change picture ---> apply ---> but still no pictures until this moment. I press F5 or click refresh but nothing happened. Could you help me? Thanks in advance.
TheCuteLittleMissy, seems to me I recall that wallpaper is stored as a rather smallish .bmp file (something like 150x50?). What happens if you locate a picture you like and rightclick (either one you already have or one on the net) on it and then select to make it your wallpaper? If you'll take a look at start>settings>control panel>display>desktop, you should have a choice of several backgrounds to choose from. If you locate something on the internet that you'd like to use, you can store it there for later use. HTH. Ed in Texas.
Wallpaper can be bmp or jpg and the size is not restricted to a certain pixel range. 150X50 would look horrible. The size should be at least the same as the resolution you have your screen set to or larger.
Are you trying to use a bmp or jpg as your wallpaper?
Hm, I know the spec of images for wallpaper, both extension and size. And I know how to put it on my desktop. But recently, my image is gone, though I tried to put it back but still nothing happened. My display resolution is 800x600 so I use that for the minimum size or 1024x800 for better quality of my wallpaper. I tried right-click but still did not work :(
Oh, I usually use jpg things and yes it asked me to for an active desktop. But, yet again, I got no problem in previous time, it works well. This time my PC turns into a weirdo uff hihi... I already did scan my sistem and registry to fix whether there is problems but it was said no problem. Ah what happened to you, PC?
Well, I decided to change my harddisk for more capacity. I will reformat and reinstall things, starts everything from the beginning so I will see if a problem comes by then, I know, hopefully, where it comes from. So let's say goodbye to this problem hehe...
