Subject: Desktop Not WorkingOS: WindowsMECPU/Ram: 870Mhz/512 |
Comment: I lost the entire background(wallpaper) on my background. When I right clicked on the desktop, I was missing the option of picking a color or wallpaper. The icons are there and they work as is the task bar, but for some reason, I can't change my background. It's simply black.

Reply: (edit)pcosgrove, Right-click the desktop, click Properties, or Start, Settings, Control Panel, Display. The first Tab is "Background". There, you should be able to choose a wallpaper/picture/ect. Now, if you just want to change the color. Click the "Appearance" Tab, and under "Item:". Change it to "Desktop", and beside that, change it to the color you want. If you mean, there isn't anything to choose from, or something else. Please explain a little better, thanks. Good Luck, CrazyOne

Reply: (edit)Crazy One, When I right click on Properties, I don't get the same tabs I used to get. I don't have a wallpaper option and I don't have a background option. All I have is screen savers, size and depth of color. I don't know what happened to the regular menu tabs???

Reply: (edit)pcosgrove, Have a look at this (Response 6) page, here at CN. See if that helps your issue. You can even delete those Dword Values. Ask for more help if needed. Good Luck, CrazyOne
