I lost the entire background(wallpaper) on my background. When I right clicked on the desktop, I was missing the option of picking a color or wallpaper. The icons are there and they work as is the task bar, but for some reason, I can't change my background. It's simply black.

pcosgrove,

Right-click the desktop, click Properties, or Start, Settings, Control Panel, Display. The first Tab is "Background". There, you should be able to choose a wallpaper/picture/ect.

Now, if you just want to change the color. Click the "Appearance" Tab, and under "Item:". Change it to "Desktop", and beside that, change it to the color you want.

If you mean, there isn't anything to choose from, or something else. Please explain a little better, thanks.

Good Luck,
CrazyOne

Crazy One,
When I right click on Properties, I don't get the same tabs I used to get. I don't have a wallpaper option and I don't have a background option. All I have is screen savers, size and depth of color. I don't know what happened to the regular menu tabs???

pcosgrove,

Have a look at this (Response 6) page, here at CN. See if that helps your issue. You can even delete those Dword Values. Ask for more help if needed.

Good Luck,
