I'm having trouble with my desktop loading. When I start my computer up, I see the usual Dell logo followed by the Win Me logo. At this point, my desktop (the wallpaper, the icons, the shortcuts, the menu, etc) usually loads but now all I get is a black screen. I can see and move my mouse arrow around the black screen, and the computer sounds normal (like it's loading my usual programs up), but I can't see anything on the monitor besides the mouse arrow.
I can reboot into Safe Mode, though, and see all my folders on the desktop, the start menu, etc. There just isn't a way to connect to the internet or access my cd-r/rw in Safe Mode in case I need to download a file...I think I would have to use a floppy disk.
What I'm afraid of is that I deleted an important file accidentally. I ran Trend Micro Housecall yesterday afternoon and it detected some malware/spyware on my computer, which I deleted. But the computer was working for several hours after that until I shut the computer down before bed. The problem started when I tried to turn the computer on this morning.
I tried doing a System Restore to a week before yesterday but I'm still getting the same problem.
Please help!

boot in to safe mode.
remove the video drivers from the device manager.
reboot, let windows reload the drivers.
should fix it
