I am currently running Win ME on my computer and I am having problems with my icons. My system icons are diplaying but they have a white background behind them. My other icons also have the white background but they are covering the actual icon.
I have tryed refreashing the screen and creating new icons but it dosent seem to work.
If there is anyway to fix this problem or why this problem would occur in the first place, I would really appreciate it.

Do a search for your "shelliconcache" file.It is a hidden file.To unhide it,go to Control Panel/Folder Options/View tab,and make sure "show all hidden files and folders" is checked.OK out.Once you find that file, delete it,and re-boot.Windows will re-create/rebiuld it.
That should do it,let me/us know please!

And if that does it,which I suspect it will,I suggest getting this lil' "reg hack" zip file that I used/installed.You will be able to easily increase the size of your shelliconcache from the default, which I believe is 512.

Well,if you're creating a bunch of new ones, maybe the default size iconcache can't handle it. Get that zip file I mentioned, increase the cache size, and see what happens. It can't hurt.
