Hi, I posted a question below about separate users and filters which was answered by other members. That led me to this question. When I only had one user, I used Renaissance Mans delindex program to delete files. Now that I set up my computer to have 2 users that log on(mom/dad and kids), do I still use delindex.bat the same way? Or do I need to log on as each user, then delete the files? I am not sure if it takes care of the computer as a whole since the program is in the C root directory? I am new to computers so please be very explicit in your response, I am always afraid of the computer crashing. Thanks so much.

Logging on is a Windows function. Delindex works in DOS. I would think you would use it the same and it deletes files created by you & the other person at the same time. Delindex deletes the index.dat files which are then re-created by Windows, it does not mearly clean the contents.
If you use the free program SPIDER from... www.fsm.nl/ward you can see what websites have been visited and also do a before and after check to see if Delindex has done it's job.

You will need to manually edit the cleanup path for each user. Delindex is a "dumb" program that clears specified paths.. having multiple users changes these paths.

Summary: DELINDEX.BAT deletes index.dat files, and optionally other files. This was posted on the tail end of #19324, so I'm reposting it here. A new version of DELINDEX BAT is almost ready. The new version go...
