Alright now i did some reading up on this file at http://www.computing.net/windows95/wwwboard/forum/104956.html
and what ive tried to do it delete it through windows and through dos, neither works because the file is always in use. I dont want to delete the registry key because if something goes wrong then i would be stuck and unable to replace it, so help me find out what to do to get rid of it. The file is in C:\Windows\System

hello
you could allways back up registry befor deleteing it.
the fact you cant delete it from dos makes me think its a trojin or virus.

Hughjass, if your looking to remove wmiexe.exe from WinMe, you can do as I did.

DL OPPCOM from http://www.beta10.com/oppcom.htm
(It can be a bit hard to DL it, the server's usually down...programmer needs to pay the bills!!LOL!)

It can remove all the unnecessary "add-ons" that drags down and uses up resources in WinMe.

I've been using it for a while now a had no problems yet, just a more stable and leaner running PC.

One important note though, you must remove PCHealth first (who needs it anyways?), reboot, THEN remove winexe, etc.

And by chance, if something goes wrong, the prog lets you revert all the files back.

If you have any progs like RegCleaner, etc. that removes registry keys, values, etc., you MUST restore them before reverting anything back or removing OPPCOM.

BTW, wavadave's suggestion to scan your PC should be the first thing you need to address.

Hope this helps :ˆ)

Oh, I forgot to mention that if you do use OPPCOM, you MUST disable PCHealth in order to disable winexe, etc., therefore you will lose System Restore, System Infomation, SFC, Dr. Watson, PCHealth, Schenduled Tasks and Maintainence...I guess that's the trade-off. Who's in control of your comp? YOU or M$??? But if you can live without them (and I know I sure can) remember to back up your system.

Let me know if you do DL it, and get back to me to see what to remove and what not to.
