deleting trojan infected system files in Win ME

Comment:
My system got infected by some trojan viruses and some of them have infected system restore (.cpy) files in the _RESTORE\TEMP folder. I have tried cleaning/deleting these files thru Norton AV with no luck. I tried deleting the files manually but ME does not allow deleting system files because of "system file protection". Is there anyway you know i could have my problem fixed?

warning... this will delete any restore points you have saved... but they will just give you the virus back anyway, so you don't want them...
right click on my computer. go to properties. go to the perfomance tab. click file system. go to the troubleshooting tab. put a check in 'disable system restore' click all of the ok's until it tells you to reboot. reboot.
to reenable system restore do the above, but put the check back in.
if you want to look at the KB article it is Q263455... there a couple of other ways in that article to do this... i just gave you the easiest.
