Deleting Text on Desktop Icons

Hi, here is a silly question i need help on......
On my desktop icons... under them they are highlighted....... and they say crap like "MY computer" "Counter-Strike" ETC....... how can i delete that text, make it transparent or whatever and not see nothing...........

Right click-use 'Rename' catagory

G'day Joel, as far as I know you must have at least one char for the filename. You can use a comma but not a dot. There are programs that can make the text transparent but these may have to be running all the time to keep the transparent text going, Microangelo is one such program that does this. There may even be a Registry tweak you can use without the need for any program to do it but I've never bothered looking for one but I'm sure if there is someone around here can assist in that.

You could change the text color to the same as the background color and you wont see it..

You could also try using your quicklaunch menu for your software and removing the desktop icons.

Icondesk 1.34 is the best at Transparent Icons, but yes you do have to have some text in the captions, because the icon is in itself a filename that exists on the desktop and requires a name to distinguish it from others.
