Hi Folks,
does anybody have an idea how to delete these
"_restore" Folders on every HD. I disabled the system recovery in the "system" controll panel already, but ME won't let me delete these folders.
I found in the registry that vxdmon also puts its logs there (only on c:\_restore).
What does vxdmon?

Thanx for your help

Tom

I have found that a WinMe emergency boot disk is imperative to getting around this. What you need to do is boot to the floppy and hit SHIFT+F5 when the boot menu appears to go to a command prompt.

See DOS dos still exist! :-)

Anyway, you may want to type:

SET PATH=C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND

to add the dos commands to your path, the n type:

deltree C:\_RESTORE

and repeat for any other drives you may have with the _RESTORE folder on it. After a reboot, the folders should be gone and won't reappear until you re-enable System Restore.

I did just that, but when I tried to use partition magic to remove a partition (f:\ not c:\) every time I rebooted it gives me a krnl386.exe not found error.

If I put the drive f:\ back in place (through safe mode) the system boots fine! How on earth does a person get rid of partitions through Windows ME without it giving you this error?
