When running defragmenting hard drive
Computor just stays at 0% all day
don't know what to do next
Please help

Run scan disk first to fix errors, both can be run effectively from safe mode.

Alternatively, use ctrl+alt+del to end tasks of everything except explorer and systray (may take a few tries with some processes) and then run a standard scan disk and defrag.

Also DISABLE your Anti-Virus and firewall too and any other programs in your start menu

You need to close the screensaver an Anit- virus. Start in Safe Mode(which bypasses startup items), run scandisk, followed by defrag. This could take one to six hours to run.
