Subject: Cannot deframent-Disk utility lock?
Reply: Thanks Wawadave I did defrag in safe mode and also scan disk. Now in the future do I have to do this all the time? Now what I suspect is when I updated my access manager from 1.4 to 1.5 as recommended it ask me do I want to override existing access manager,I click yes and nothing happened for long time.I guess it was locked.I tried 2nd time same.so I closed it. When I went to defrag I received dialog box saying: Cannot check this drive because disk is not properly formatted or a program such as disk utility has locked it.Format the disk or wait for the utility to finish and then restart defragmenting. On the defragmenting diskC statement Locked by a disk utility, whatever that means., and at the bottom ID No.DEFRAG00105. I am not very knowledgable in computers and would like to know if I can get back to as before. I would not like to use restore system as I will loose my Norton and have no back up for it. Thank you very much for your help Oldy
