Defrag Freezes

My computer froze and I had to reinstall WINME. One of my problems now is that when I run DEFRAG it locks up at 10 and it shows a RED box. I can't continue with Windows in normal manner--so I have to shut down with my switch. I keep trying and the same problem exists.

Did you run "scan disk" before you tried defraging? Are you doing it while in the "safe mode"? Instructions on how to enter the "safe mode" are two posts down(F8 Key or msconfig).
