Last week I had to uninstall and reinstall my Norton anti-Virus 2002. Yesterday , I made a floppy recue disk set using Norton Utilities, it made a entire new set ,reformatting the floppys , after you are done making the rescue set ,it advises that you test the rescue set, which I did ,I put the boot disk in and it booted to DOS. After I ctrl/alt/delete my way out of DOS and had my desktop back in Windows, I noticed a red X on my anti-virus showing the subscription as expried ? Well I know the subscription does not expire till 2/05. I kept going to live update and it kept trying to get me to renew my subscription. Now I updated my virus definitions after the install of the anti virus and all was fine. I figured testing the rescue set had messed something up so I figured I would do a system restore. Thats when I realized my PC was set to Nov. of 2005. I set the clock to the correct date ,however now when I do a search for files created on 11/05/05 a couple of dozen flies come up ,talk about back to the future. Will these files dated 2005 as the date they where created cause any problems and would opening up in DOS change you system clock in anyway !
Thanks to All Nick

Something similar happened to me a while in Win Xp, I was playing with a Linux Floppix distro that fits on two floppies. When I exited Linux the date on a lot of files had been changed to 2000 including Norton. I ran chkdisk in Win XP and that fixed the date problems on all the files. So run Scandisk and it should fix your problem.

The 2005 dated files should only cause a problem it run SCANDISK and in its Advanced tab you have set the option to check for valid dates and times. Setting this option can cause a problem. As long as you don't set checking that option, there should not be any problems.

However, if they are text files, it would be a good idea to open, edit and save them so they have the current date.
