DAT file to Image

A friend of mine scanned some documents and e-mail them to me and when I got them they are in .dat format. Is there a way to convert those files to images?

If the images were large, they would have been split up and reformed when you received them. If you tried to open them before they reformed they sometimes/always end up as .dat files.
Get them resent and don't open them till the download is complete.
You could try renaming the files from .dat to .bmp or .jpg etc but I think they will still not open. Good luck.
