I use a batch file to delete this folder every time I boot up. If the folder gets too big, ME will run slower.
So yes, it is safe to delete the contents of the c:\windpws\temp - folder.

Deleting the contents of the TEMP folder at Startup can keep some programs from finishing the install or update process.

But yes you can delete the contents of the TEMP folder--and all *.tmp files.

Delete junk files with Delindex:

Does anyone know what the TXT files that Office XP puts in the TEMP folder when you install it are for?

There's a whole bunch of them, approx. 13 MB in total.
