>>Original Post>My own Follow up<< Hey everybody out there,
I found the problem but I do not know how to solve it or what to do about it. The Problem seems to be the mouse itself... I've got a Intelli Explorer Optical Mouse, when i unplug it and check system monitor, just using the keyboard, the usage of my CPU is down to about 5%!! I plugged the Mouse in to the USB just to see if that would change anything and it did but only very little, down to about 40% usage. I plugged in my old regular 'Ball Wheel' mouse to see if the other one is faulty but hey same usage of about 70-80%!! Are both of them faulty, maybe, but what are the odds!! what should i do??? Any suggestions?? I would really appreciate it folks. I can't believe that I'm the only one out there with that kinda problem. Thanks for reading,,, I know it got kinda long.

same problem with me. however the problem only shows up in system monitor. if you check with task info 2000, the processor shows 99% idle. so this could be a misread. the other strange thing is that when the mouse is moving cpu usage falls to zero. very perplexing. i'm now using cpu idle which grabs all the idle time but unfortunately my motherboard has not got a thermostat so i can't tell if this is actually doing any good. until i can find the cause of the problem, this is the best solution i can think of.

My new computer with me was running about 60-70% with only a few startup items running. My other computer with 98 second edition, same startup is running about 5-10%. My new computer is loaded with power and memory. I was able to get it down to 30 -40% by changing hard drive to DMA, along with CD drives. After a while, no specific time it will go back to 60 -70%, then I restart and I'm back to 30-40%. This is not good. I would like some help too.
Summary: My CPU usage runs on average at 70-80% on idle!! I've tried to close everything running exept for Explorer and Systray and that does not change anything either. I also tried msconfig and did a selecti...
