Hi all,
I've been messing around with my system after I couldn't boot onto windows anymore (see post a few threads back). I had the clever (!!!) idea of messing around with the MBR, first from Linux (using dd ...) then from DOS using fdisk /mbr. Now, what used to be my main primary master drive with a primary, extended, linux and linux swap partitions on shows in fdisk only a Primary Dos partition the size of the disk. I can't find my linux partition anywhere. No sign of the windows partitions. I fear the worse, but just before I pull out the installs, maybe someone has some idea? Even just maybe to save some of the files in that black hole?
In case someone in future suffers the same woes, I found a magnificent little program called TestDrive on the net. This restored my partitions back to their original state in no time.
