For the last month or two my online usage has been interrupted with the same blue page error that reads, "An exception OE has occurred at 0028:C00120EA in VXD, This was called from 0028:D46DA464" The numbering changes but the message stays about the same. This problem started (I think)when I started downloading MP3 audio files from "Morpheus"(Music City.com)but various phone sessions with Gateway Tech support and AOL Tech support have failed to provide a solution. I have gone through all their troubleshooting procedures and nothing seems to work. If reinstalling windows helps the problem or regrettably my only choice, how can it be done without jeopardizing my present files, documents, programs, and MP3's? Please reply, Thank you

re-installing your operating system over top of the existing system will preserve all of your files and settings. Just put the cd in the drive and do an install.

James,
first thing you can do is download & run a product called AdAware:
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/Then run any Anti virus software you have.
If you have None, then go here & run this:
http://housecall.antivirus.com/Then, these are some of the useful sites that are used to look into your problems:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q273738&GSSNB=1
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=%2Fsupport%2Fwindows%2Ftopics%2Ferrormsg%2Femresctr%2Easp
http://www.generation.net/~hleboeuf/
http://www.modemhelp.net/oeerrors/oe.shtml
http://home.aol.com/AXCEL216/
There are more but not to (my) hand, try these and post back.
Good luck.Viking
